Before scoring anything, Lumis groups stories about the same event into single clusters — so 200 articles about the same paper become one insight, not 200 noise items. This is what keeps the briefing signal-dense instead of repetitive.

Each clustered insight is scored on three dimensions: authority (is the source credible, is this a primary finding or commentary?), novelty (is this genuinely new information or a rehash?), and community feedback (how subscribers voted on past briefings from this source and topic). The final score is a weighted sum.
